Hardy Native Plants - No Special Treatment

At Restore Native Plant Nursery, we take pride in producing plants that thrive in the real world—no special treatment required!

Our process begins with seed collection. Each plant starts its journey as a carefully chosen seed, which is nurtured in our greenhouses before being moved outdoors. Unlike many nurseries that rely heavily on protective covers and controlled environments, we allow our plants to grow out in the open. This means they are exposed to the full force of nature—frosty winters, scorching summer sun, and everything in between.

This natural exposure toughens the plants, helping them develop the resilience needed to thrive in New Zealand’s diverse climate. By the time our plants are ready for sale, they’ve grown into hardy specimens that can handle challenging environments with ease.

Our latest batches of plants are potted during spring and summer, ensuring they have ample time to grow and strengthen. By the following winter, these plants are robust, resilient, and ready to be planted on farms and other restoration projects. Thanks to our natural approach, they’ll settle in quickly and require minimal maintenance.

We believe in growing plants the way nature intended, and our commitment to this method ensures they are not only beautiful but also functional in restoring ecosystems. Whether you’re looking to enhance your farm, garden, or a larger restoration project, our hardy native plants are up to the task.
